StarCraft TMG has a larger emphasis on tactics, as opposed to strategy. This means that both players have access to more tools to change the battlefield and stage a comeback.

First and foremost, StarCraft TMG is a wargame, and there are certain conventions that make it different from a board game. Even so, we have done what we can to convey the core essence of StarCraft onto the tabletop. The supply system limits the amount of units on the table at one time, and allows you to react with units from your reserves through various deployment methods, simulating Fog of War. APM is represented through multiple phases with alternating activations, in which you can give up your activation to be first in the next phase.

The small table format is played on a 36” x 36” (92cm x 92cm) battlefield, and the normal table format is played on a 54” x 36” (137cm x 92cm).

Assuming that both players are familiar with the game, the small table format game takes about 1 hour, and the normal table format takes about 2 hours.

Our approach is entirely math based which drastically reduces the amount of slip-ups involved with balancing, but in cases where adjustments are needed, we will have a living rules document where you will be able to check the current points costs or rules adjustments.

Base to base measurements - there is no true line of sight in this game. Each piece of terrain has a height tier which is determined at the beginning of the game.

Yes! We plan to support local tournaments through special packs available to brick & mortar stores, and we also plan to eventually run our own official tournaments. If you want to host your own tournament, please reach out to us through our contact form! We’re also interested in supporting existing StarCraft tournaments, such as the RSL, and we plan to support more in the future!

We will have a channel on our Discord server where you will be able to share your creations with everyone else - whether they’re painted minis, custom scenarios, or entirely new factions, they’ll all be welcome there!
